Liberty Cove

Liberty Cove is a beautiful little park just a couple miles from the small town of Lawrence. Our Park Pursuit brought us to this quiet little pond on the last day of our vacation. It only took a few minutes for the girls to bail out of the car and get on the playground.

Then we set out in pursuit of our post. We had to cross a bridge to get there (bridges seem to be a theme in this year's park pursuit).

When we found the post, it was the perfect height for Ella, so she got to do the rubbing.

Then we hiked back to do a little fishing.

But first, we had to eat some lunch.

The girls were fascinated by this crab apple tree.

Zellie thinks vacation is awesome, but by this point anything that doesn't involve her car seat is awesome.

We finally got ready to fish only re realize we had forgotten to get nightcrawlers. Unfortunately, our other lures didn't provide much luck. It looked as though the lake was losing a lot of fish because there weren't any bites for anyone and the shores were lined with dead fish.

We still had a good time though. If nothing else the tranquility of this park make it a great find.
