We pulled up on the beach and the girls immediately bailed from the suburban and ran to the water. Even Zellie enjoyed the beach.
The big girls enjoyed wading and swimming close to shore while Mama looked on and Papa assembled the tent.
Once the tent was up we decided to have a little fun and take some pictures. We enjoyed coming up with creative poses such as this one:

We were a little concerned as a storm built to the east of us, but Papa said storms don't typically move to the west in our part of the country. We were glad that he was right because this looked like it wouldn't be much fun in our tent. Just to be sure, we sent a text to Uncle Buh and had him check the weather for us. It was all to the east and moving northeast, so we breathed a sigh of relief and got ready for the night.
The girls were all excited to sleep in the tent again.
After everyone got cleaned up, we had supper and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. There is just something about watching the sun go down in such a peaceful place that brings rest to the heart.

As the sun sank away, all the girls were ready for story time.
So we read to them until about 10 o'clock and by then Zellie had drifted off to sleep and the sun had gone to bed. Soon everybody was asleep and we slept fairly soundly until sunrise. Of course Zellie and Ella were up with the sun and so we headed out for one more round of beach fun. Zellie played with her rings while the rest of us built a sandcastle.
Just before we left, we tried one more artsy photo. It wasn't perfect, but it was fun nonetheless.
