Driving to Dakota

After leaving Fort Robinson, we drove through Crawford and navigated our way north toward South Dakota. We rolled along for a while before seeing a couple of bikers pulled over on the side of the road. We slowed down not knowing what they were doing, but as we approached, we realized that they were stopped for a photo opportunity. Not being the kind of family to pass this up and with a goal to someday visit all of the continental states, we decided to document our passage into a new state with a picture.

As excited as we were to enter the next leg of our journey, we were all a little nostalgic for Nebraska.

We drove down the winding roads of southwestern South Dakota, taking special note of how the terrain had changed and just why they call it the Black Hills. The trip took a few hours, so all of the girls decided to catch up on some much needed sleep while Papa did the driving. We arrived safely in Rapid City at around 2 PM, ready for another adventure.
